The 1908 is owned by Pete Aguirre and Jake Kozlowski, two friends and business partners who also own The Blackdoor Steakhouse right across the street. What started about six years ago as a single food truck mobile bar has grown into a handful of Seguin gathering places, and they are only getting started.
Pete and Jake started small, about six years ago, with one food truck mobile bar. That first idea grew into several bars, and then into The 1908, their first brick and mortar spot on the corner of Court and Austin. In the summer of 2026 they opened The Blackdoor Steakhouse just across the street, a goal years in the making. Jake grew up in Chicago; both of them now pour everything into downtown Seguin.
Pete and Jake believe a strong downtown lifts everyone. Their mission is to help revitalize the heart of Seguin and keep local small businesses thriving, one good night, one full table, and one new regular at a time.
For them, it always comes back to the team and the community that made it possible.
